Begonias can be grown in full sun to part shade, with no direct afternoon sun. Spindly stems and lack of flowers can be signs of not enough light. Allowing tuberous begonias to dry out for two or more days will lead to dropping leaves, lack of flowers and a chance of getting powdery mildew fungus (a white powdery coating on the leaf surface) if weather conditions are right.
